And then the shift at 70! At 71 I woke up to another shift. Brain fog, lack of energy and losing balance, fat accumulation from chest to thighs, wrinkles, pre-diabetes, thinning hair… you name it! At 72 I am now 4 months into a medically prescribed rebuilding utilizing HRT, eliminating sugar, gluten dairy and alcohol while focusing on a high protein, healthy carbs and fats (food as medicine), a supplement regime and exercise. The results began with rebuilding my leaky gut, thyroid treatment that immediately restored energy, reversal of metabolic syndrome, and elimination of toxins. The latest addition is building muscle through weight training. The recommendation was to lose about 15# of fat. So far I’ve lost over 10# of weight and have gained over 4# of muscle. My posture, balance and muscle mass have improved. I have NO aches and pains except occasional inflammation from hard workouts or big jobs requiring lifting. But I don’t take any OTC meds. My memory is still occasionally foggy (especially names) but I’m working on that. I’m a testament to the fact that it’s never too late to make changes, rebuild your body and regain the energy and stamina you felt in prior decades. You’ll be glad you did.
THIS! Turning 70 this year has definitely brought changes; mental, emotional, and physical. Some good, some not so much. But all a work in progress of which I am hopeful for positive outcomes and ongoing improvement.
Do it! I know what you’re saying about age 70. Our bodies are wearing out, but you’ll feel so much better in the time you still have. Hope you have a friend to share the journey with and encourage each other to stay with it.
Thanks for sharing this Alli, will get my self ahead of the 60s burst 👍
I'm doing the same!!
